Oh, to be human!

My Story

Before UX, I worked in women’s health and birth advocacy, from assisting a traditional midwife in the Amish community to managing operations at the Minnesota Birth Center. I saw how something as small as a confusing form or inaccessible portal could add stress during life’s most vulnerable moments. It made me realize that the systems shaping our lives, like applying for healthcare or scheduling appointments, are things everyone has to do but no one finds easy. I want to make those experiences accessible, understandable, and infused with empathy.

I have a BA in Identity Studies, focused on how race, gender, and systems of power shape everyday experiences, which taught me how design can either build barriers or bridges. I fell in love with UX design because it combines my two passions: understanding people and improving systems.
